Completed card

So it's New Year's Eve today, and I've just completed the card I was designing yesterday.
As the stamp is so large,  8 inches , I was not sure what to do with it. Decided to make a card out of it, and I'm happy with the end result.
Here she is is,  and rather appropriately, I have added a sentiment that could become a mantra we can all life our lives towards,  for the year  ahead.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
HUGS AND BLESSINGS FOR A GREAT
2014.
May it deliver all your dreams and wishes  to you.

Julie nutting mixed media stamp 1

Here I have used a Julie Nutting Mixed Media Stamp
Coloured with Coptic markers, BG range for dress, E02,E00, and just a touch of RV21 to her face

The image below has had shadow created around in W1,3,5  and then blended with alcohol blender.
I wasn't happy with the shadowing so took to it with a cotton bud and Rubbing alcohol and the end result is the last image here.

After drying off I added clear spica pen to her headband and bodice and parts of the skirt.
Unfortunately it doesn't show up in the photo I took :(
Now I need to do something with the final image.
As it is a large stamp, measures 8inches,  some thought will need to be taken on how to display her.

Gorjuss stamp take 2

Hello fellow bloggers,

Today marks the second last day of the year 2013, so here is another card, with the plan of adding a post every day. Let's see if I can. Might be my challenge for the coming year ,  to myself, anyway. Lol

Here is another of the beautiful Gorjuss stamps, this time coloured with Coptic markers.
I've created a shadow effects around the image with a dot shadow technique, in grey tones. Added the flower for a bit if dimension to the project, after doing the layering on the card front. I used Spellbinder dies to layer the image , and just found the perfect colour match with the ribbon, from my supplies on hand.
Hope you like it as much as I had creating it.

Thanks for stopping by to look, till next time, hugs Nett

December 2013

As 2013 draw to a close,  and we welcome what I hope is going to be a better year for everyone, I thought that as it's been so long since I blogged, I would put up,a few pictures of some things I have done the last few months.
I am also very busy creating a ladies journal for my Mother to write all the important memories and milestones in from her life. More and maybe a separate blog will be required for this.
Wishing everyone blessings for 2014

This image was created by accident, while experimenting with Distress markers.
She poses a rather forlorn figure, don't you think?
The hair was too heavy with the black to I spritzed with water, which in turn caused a run effect all over, so rather than waste the image I added a few other colours  and a little more water after drying between each colour added and then finally sanded over the image to give a grunge distressed look.
the stamp is from the Gorjuss collection

Bellakins: Christmas anything other than a card, challenge 2

Bellakins: Christmas anything other than a card, challenge 2: This what I designed for the challenge happening on Shop Bron, and I decided to showcase the new Koala Hugs Tilda, as I am lucky enough to ...

Sweet Talk

When I created my blog, it was done with the best intentions of doing a blog every weekend,so show those that are interested, what I do. Well that didn't eventuate now did it!  But guess what, I have done another this weekend, which makes 2 posts in a couple of days.

"Just love those chubby arms and legs "
So  anyway this weekend the weather has been so terribly hot and stuffy here.  Not the sort of weather for house work, so I have shelved the ironing for a cooler day, and decided to play a little more with the floorboard technique I learned.  I got all inspired after doing the previous card on my blog and have done another, using a Penny Black stamp this time.   Don't you just love her chubby arms and legs !  Sooo cute.
I have created a room again with the floorboards technique, Thanks Mindy!
This time the floor  looks less "chunky" as I have tried to keep the strokes fine. I have also created a ceiling above from the corner of the card, just to give more of a 3- d effect.  I have kept the dressing up / layout of the card "simple",  or should I say I have taken the less is more approach as the technique of the floorboards and  room are lost when there is too much going on around the image. So much time is spent getting the blending etc happening with the Copic markers, it's a shame when the extras on the card over shadow the work gone into the image.
Maybe the less is more approach can become my signature.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Till next time, happy crafting.
Hugs Jeanette

Floorboards

I have done a card here using a new technique I learnt from Mindy in the Colour Creative Classroom.
I have stamped and coloured a Magnolia image and then created a room around her, with Floorboards, and a wall corner. I really enjoyed doing this card, especially the illusion of the wall space behind her.
I had a little bit of trouble with the floor boards, as I don't have all the Copic colours that Mindy used, so did some improvisation, and am reasonably happy with the end result.

I still have trouble getting my layouts together  :((, so left it for a few days and then came back with a fresh eye before putting it all together. Thanks Mindy for sharing.

Thanks for looking
